As we waited in line we got our first glimpse of cosplay action.
While volunteering wasn't difficult, we simply guarded the doors into the Simpsons, V, Fringe, and Vampire Diaries panels, we decided that next year we'd just go with buying some tickets. Once our duties were done and over with, we began on trek into the enormous building that was the convention center.
Here we've got regular reader, and my sister, at the Walking Dead booth and next to a huge green lantern.
And what would a post be without pictures of yours truly. Here I am with the huge green lantern, an awesome looking Darth Maul, and an amazing C3PO and R2D2 sculpture built out of Legos.
Next up I'll give you a glimpse of the hundreds, thousands of action figures, movie props and mini sculptures spread throughout the convention center.
First up we've got Thor's helmet and Loki's helmet. In the middle we've got a Hela, a Thor, and some viking on the throne. Note, none of these are the actual actors.
These aren't exactly comic related, but then again Comic Con isn't all comic related anymore now is it.
Here are some cool figures that you all should enjoy. A little bit of JLA lovin' and a bit of He-Man lovin'.
The Walking Dead is coming to tv screens near you this October on AMC. They had the trailer for the show playing at SDCC and in case you haven't heard, it was awesome. It looks like it's going to to be an amazing tv show and I can't wait. They built a replica of a set from the show and here it is:
Here it is folks, your sneak preview at the next great tv show.
Here are a couple more statues found around SDCC.
What kind of geek would I be without some more awesome pictures of Star Wars statues.
Comic Con is well known for all of the costumes people wear, so here are a couple more costumed folk for you guys.
Here we've got a Yoda, an Oil Spill affected Aquaman, a couple Green Arrows, a Catwoman, and a Joker.
Celebrity siting! Look, it's Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds.
And look at those awesome bust sculptures of Thor and Wolverine.
Now we're getting to the great stuff. Just being at SDCC was great, but what was even better was getting to meet some awesome artists and writers.
Would you look at that DC Panel. Why, that's Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, and Joe Prado. They're a part of the Brightest Day team.
Here I am with Uncanny X-Men writer Matt Fraction. Next to him are artists Whilce Portacio, Terry Dodson, and Rachel Dodson.
Next up we've got some great DC artists. There's Francis Manapul. What's that he's inking? That's right, it's a sketch for me and my one for my sister. Then we've got Cameron Stewart doing a sketch for another fan. And finally there's Dustin Nguyen doing a sketch for yours truly.
Then we've got Philip Tan working on a Hawkgirl painting. And newlyweds Mike Choi and Sonia Oback at their table in Artist Alley.
Here they are, my new sketches. The first two by Francis Manapul, the third by Dustin Nguyen, the fourth by Terry Dodson, and the last by Whilce Portacio.
Here are two videos of Francis Manapul sketching some amazing art.
And that, my readers, concludes our journey to
San Diego Comic Con 2010!
San Diego Comic Con 2010!
Of course you got Connor :)
ReplyDeleteSooooo jealous.
Of the Comic-Con experience, not so much the Connor sketch. Although I am a big Manapul fan.
ReplyDeleteI contemplated maybe getting him to do Tim. But how could I get anything else by him when his run on Adventure Comics is the reason I love his work so much. Plus, I love Conner and he just threw Krypto in for fun.
ReplyDeleteYay for Comic Con! I know that they kinda should be, but I love that all the artist and writers were so nice to us.
ReplyDeleteI'm also glad for all our new art! :)
