It means I've joined the hunt myself

Walking Dead #82 ****
Writer: Robert Kirkman
Artist(s): Charlie Adlard and Cliff Rathburn
Cover Artist: Charlie Adlard
Publisher: Image

The zombies have invaded Alexandria and no one is safe. What you need to know about this series is that, it's not really a book you want to start in the middle. While there are points in the series that would be good jumping on points, but I wouldn't recommend it. The success of the book rests on the development of the characters over time. This issue has a coupe of those moments. Like, Glen fearing the outcome of this attack, Andrea standing strong, Rick's line at the very end. Survival has always been key for these guys and right now they're in for the largest onslaught of zombies since the very beginning, only this time they have experience on their hands. As a side not, I just thought it was worth mentioning that it was great to have badass Michonne back.

X-23 #7 ****
Writer: Marjorie Liu
Artist: Sana Takeda
Cover Artist(s): Kalman Andrasofszky
Publisher: Marvel

If like me, you have been waiting for a great Gambit book, then I've got to ask you, why aren't you reading this book? While this book is called X-23, for the most part it has been the adventures of X-23 and Gambit, though that might change with the next arc. The duo are on their way to Madripoor, however to get get there they need to help out an old friend of Gambit's. They handily rip through the gang of pirates, but unfortunately are unable to save the informant they were sent to rescue. This issue was extremely well done. This is pretty much a one shot story, meant as a filler before the X-23 vs. Daken showdown. However, it's less of a filler and more like an excellent one issue story. Liu has a fantastic grasp of X-23's character, portraying her as she has always been portrayed, but with more and more compassion as the time goes. As a great addition, this issue is absolutely beautiful. The art from the cover to the very last page was fantastically executed.

X-Men Legacy #246 ****1/2
Writer: Mike Carey
Artists: Clay Maan and Jay Leisten
Cover Artists: Leinil Yu and Marte Gracia
Publisher: Marvel

Well hot damn kids. Mike Carey is on a mega-roll here with this brilliant story. This chapter was at its roots a chase story, with Legacy (Rogue) being the one chased. But really, this was so much more than just a simple chase story. After a run-in with a sedated/comatose Xavier Legacy is filled with tidbits of information about a world she has no recollection of. Now, on the run from her own kind, Legacy uses her intelligence to navigate around the ferocious New Mutants, with the aid of some acquired powers and old friends. Meanwhile, Carey is also bringing in some events that seem like a natural fit, such as Gambit saving Leacy (sans emotional baggage) or Jimmy (Wolverine) teaming up with Basilisk (Cyclops.) This chapter is exciting, fast paced, and filled with bits of information. Mann, as I mentioned last time, has done some of his best work I've ever seen by him and it works perfectly in combination with Carey's story.
